Admission Requirements
Applicants should carefully review all admission requirements before applying. Requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Attend a mandatory IN-PERSON information session. See dates below and click here to register.
- October 22, 2026 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- November 5, 2026 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- November 17, 2026 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- December 8, 2026 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- January 12, 2027 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- February 2, 2027 from 4:00-5:00 pm
- Completed application
- Required entrance testing – HESI A2 Entrance Exam
Application Process
1. Review the program requirements
Make sure you understand the admission requirements, program schedule, costs, and expectations. Attend a mandatory IN-PERSON information session. Click here to register for an Information Session.
2. Complete the application.
Submit the online application and all required documents by the deadline. Application for Fall 2027 cohort opens Nov. 1, 2026!
3. Complete required testing – HESI A2 Entrance Exam.
Complete details given at Information Session. Entrance exams will be scheduled by the applicant to be taken remotely.

3. Complete any required interview.
Pending a complete application and a HESI score greater than or equal to 70%, the applicant will receive an email invitation for an interview.
4. Fingerprinting and Background check:
Students are responsible for all fingerprinting and background check fees. Please complete this requirement at the Augusta County Public Schools Personnel Office, located inside the Government Center in Verona, VA.

5. Complete enrollment requirements
Students selected for the program will receive information about next steps, required forms, health documentation, and orientation. Once accepted, students should:
*Schedule a dental exam with a dentist (Form due on the first day of class)
*Schedule a physical exam with a healthcare provider (Form due on the first day of class)
*Proof of the following immunizations: (Due on the first day of class)
Two MMR vaccinations OR positive titer
Two Varicella vaccinations OR positive titer
Three Hepatitis B vaccinations OR positive titer
Tetanus within the last 10 years
TB test: 2 -step Tuberculin skin test. The first TB skin test is performed and read 48-72 hours later. A second TB skin test should be done 1 to 3 weeks later, and then read 48-72 hours later.
*Proof of CPR certification
*Forms will be provided with acceptance notification.
What to Expect
The Practical Nursing program is a serious commitment. Students should be prepared for classroom instruction, skills practice, clinical experiences, studying outside of class, and meeting attendance requirements.
