HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) Instructor

Qualifications for the position:

1. Possess, or willing to obtain a valid Virginia Technical Professional license in the specified subject area.

2. Demonstrate the ability to instruct, evaluate and supervise high school students in all phases of the heating and air conditioning field.

3. Demonstrate evidence of the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with high school students, parents, business and industry representatives and school administration.

4. Documented a minimum of five (5) years’ experience or 4,000 hours of work experience in the HVACR field.  Last work experience must be no older than 2 years from current time.

5. Possession of a Universal CFC license is required.

6. Possession of a Journeyman’s certification is required/; possession of Master’s certification is preferred.

This is a full time position, covered by a minimum 220-day teaching contract.  Salary is based upon an individual’s experience as placed on the Augusta County Public School’s teacher salary scale.  Successful candidate must be able to start as soon as possible.

Nurse Aide Instructor

Minimum Qualifications for the position:

  1. Possess, or willing to obtain a valid Virginia Technical Professional license in the specified subject area.
  2. Holds a current unrestricted license in Virginia or a multistate licensure privilege.  Preference given to candidates with a BSN degree.
  3. Demonstrated two years of experience as a registered nurse within the previous five years and at least one year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services. Such experience may include, but not be limited to, employment in a nurse aide education program or employment in or supervision of nursing students in a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, home care or other long-term care setting. Experience should include varied responsibilities, such as direct client care, supervision and education.
  4. Evidence of leadership qualities and personal characteristics for working effectively with high school aged students, teachers, administration and members of the health services field.

Adult Education Evening Program – Carpentry Instructor (part-time)

The Valley Tech Adult Education Evening Program is seeking an individual to teach part time, for the upcoming 2022-2023 schedule. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic person interested in sharing their knowledge and experience in Carpentry.

        Qualifications include:

  • Ability to use technology in the teaching and learning process.
    • Have at least 2 years of work-related experience.
    • Prepared to deliver instruction to adults.
    • Educate students on safety requirements and regulations pertaining to carpentry trades.
    • Facilitate in-classroom learning and hands on training.
    • Train students on the proper operation of power tools.
    • Control and monitor all inventory/tools/equipment used as a part of teaching class.

Adult Education Evening Program – Small Engine Instructor (part-time)

The Valley Tech Adult Education Evening Program is seeking an individual to teach part time, for the upcoming 2022-2023 schedule. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic person interested in sharing their knowledge and experience in Small Engine Repair.

        Qualifications include:

  • Ability to use technology in the teaching and learning process.
    • Have at least 4 years of work-related experience.
    • Prepared to deliver instruction to adults.
    • Educate on safety and appropriate tool and equipment usage with an understanding of small engine operation principles.
    • Basic diagnostics and repair, ignition, fuel, and compression systems; and service/reconditioning procedures, as well as.
    • Control and monitor all inventory/tools/equipment used as a part of teaching class.
